How much does the service cost?
An hourly rate is determined based on the schedule / total number of hours per month on average. Typically, longer hours will result in a lower hourly rate. Payments are made in advance & on a monthly basis.
Are your caregivers trained?
Our caregivers are formally trained in senior care, with specific focus on degenerative ailments such as Alzheimer’s & Dementia. Certifications are typically obtained through various educational institutions throughout Trinidad and cover a wide range of age-related topics.
Is there a standard / set schedule?
There is no set schedule or minimum number of hours. Families set a schedule that covers times during the day or night when assistance is required. Please note that very short schedules usually more challenging to facilitate
Can caregivers cook meals for the patient?
Caregivers can prepare meals for patients if required, in accordance with any dietary restrictions that may be present.
What areas do you operate in?
Our roster covers all major residential areas throughout Trinidad. In general, caregivers are selected from an area that is close to or easily accessible in relation to the family home.
Do caregivers clean?
Caregivers are responsible for keeping the patient’s area clean and tidy. This includes cleaning solely related to taking care of the patient, such as laundry or washing up.
What do caregivers do?
Caregivers assist patients with daily activities, ensure safety and provide general companionship. Typical activities include medication reminders & administration, assistance with personal hygiene, meal preparation and assistance with mobility/exercise.
Do your caregivers drive?
In some cases, caregivers are required to transport/accompany patients to the clinic, doctor’s appointments or to run errands. In such cases, Vesta will provide a caregiver with a license and/or private transport, if available.
Do you have a nursing home/ facility?
No, Vesta does not currently have a home for the elderly. Our caregivers provide assistance in the patients’ homes.
